What Are Cataracts?

Cataracts are a common eye condition involving clouding of eye's natural lens. They can develop slowly over time and are often associated with aging, but can also be caused by injury, certain medications, or other medical conditions. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial one.

Lens Options

Which Lens Is Right For Me?

There are several lens options available for cataract surgery, including monofocal lenses, multifocal lenses, and toric lenses. Monofocal lenses can provide clear distance vision, while multifocal lenses can correct both distance and near vision. Toric lenses are designed to correct astigmatism.

Laser vs Traditional

Laser cataract surgery is a newer and more advanced technique compared to traditional cataract surgery. While traditional surgery involves the use of a blade to manually make incisions, laser surgery creates precise incisions and corrects mild astigmatism. This results in a more accurate and safer procedure, with less risk of complications. Talk to your doctor to see if laser cataract surgery is right for you.
